How We Do It
Each year the League holds a number of member- invited fund raising events. In the past, there have been theater nights with cast talk- backs, a Yankee Stadium game with Special tour of Monument Park, private receptions and celebrity book signings, a visit to Little Italy in the Bronx, Art exhibits, cooking demonstrations at the Italian Culinary Institute and celebrating its anniversary at Ellis Island.
Members genuinely enjoy these events and each others company. But most importantly there is a deep sense of community and strong commitment by participating to help children in need.
The IWL’s Annual Autumn in New York Luncheon is its largest fundraiser of the year. It is a very special event, with honorees who have made significant contributions to the Italian American community, and features some of the Bambini the league has helped.
