"Dear Members of the Italian Welfare League,

I don't know if I can find the words to thank you. Jonathan is a very special boy. He is funny, quick-witted, sassy, loving and smart.  Unlike many kids though, he has to work so hard for EVERYTHING! He can act out and get frustrated when he isn't understood.

He loves words and getting his point across. He will find a way to be understood. Thank you for helping him get more PROMPT sessions. He is  speaking now because of this. We really appreciate all of your help and support.  Love, David, Colleen, Andrew & Jonathan."

"We just got the bike and are having so much fun!  Thank you to all who made this possible.  The timing was perfect because school just ended.  Dominick loves it as did his twin Brother Dante.  (Dante has hydrocephalus so this is a great asset to their physical therapy).  Thank you again for all of you help with this."

"Dear Italian Welfare League:

This is amazing news! Your commitment to helping the Italian community is impressive and we are truly grateful to receive this opportunity. The family and his team are overjoyed by the support you have provided. The funds will really help with getting Patrick the therapy he needs without having to think about the financial burden. Nicole is a sixteen-year-old with a history of cerebral palsy and a severe seizure disorder.

Last year, Nicole underwent a hemispherectomy surgery for seizure control followed by a shunt revision. Both surgeries were successful, however after the surgery Nicole was left with increased right sided weakness, poor balance, a limited ability to walk with support, and decreased endurance for motor skills.

The IWL bought a specialized transport chair to help Nicole to participate in school, family gatherings and social events.

As spring awakens us to warmer weather and blooming flowers, the Italian Welfare League remains steadfast in its mission of giving to children who are suffering from physical disabilities and emotional trauma.  Since 2001, our “I Nostri Bambini” campaign has helped many deserving families with medical bills, therapeutic services, transportation, rehabilitation and special needs equipment . Your generosity and support has allowed the League to donate more than $2 million to nearly 2,000 bambini.
