Festive Spring has arrived,

Dear Friends: During this glorious Easter season of reawakening, I'm asking you to please help us again so we can continue fulfilling our IWL mission of supporting 'I Nostri Bambini'. Because of your generous donations over the years, from the time we started the 'I Nostri Bambini' program in 2001 we were able to donate close to $3,000,000 to help and support over 2,300 Bambini affected by severe physical illnesses, mental disabilities and severe emotional trauma. I'd like to share here a short list of some the Bambini that, with your enormous generosity, we were able to help this year: we purchased a special bike for a 5-year-old boy who has spastic quadriplegia, cerebral palsy, and is nonverbal; we installed two chair lifts for a 6-year-old girl suffering from spinal muscular atrophy so she can now access the basement for therapy and the second floor bedroom; we provided six months of dialectic behavioral therapy for a teenage girl who is autistic and suffers from PTSD because of bullying in school. We also purchased a backup camera and had it installed on a wheelchair for a boy suffering cerebral palsy and dystonia.--This year we were still able to continue our other programs such as 'Adopt a family for Christmas'. I'm happy to report that this past Christmas we ‘adopted’ 2 families - we donated gift cards for food and other essentials and we purchased age-appropriate Christmas gifts and wrapped them so the children were able to open the gifts on Christmas day. We are now in the process of 'Adopting a Family for Easter’. I appeal to you on behalf of the entire Board of Italian Welfare League to please help us with our Easter Drive so we can continue to assist ‘I Nostri Bambini' who count on your generosity and unwavering support.
